The first open practice for the Goombay Youth Kick

The first open practice for the Goombay Youth Kickball League brought out 30 excited teens ready to play kickball. They have been in the house for an entire year so the energy level was on 100!!! Even the parents where excited to see them play.

Thanks to those hikers that came out to our evening practice hike at Rock Creek Park. We’re getting ready for our Annual Goombay 12 Miler next Saturday, May 22nd. For those interested in hiking but don’t want to do all 12 Miles, we have outs at 6 miles & 10 miles, so make sure you join us.

Whether your mom is still living or has passed away, we will never forget the love that she has showed and taught us. 🥰

At this point of the hike we noticed baby girl cry

At this point of the hike we noticed baby girl crying because her mother told her to walk with her. Like most parents, we want our kids to stay close and stay out of the way but this young lady said, “mom, y’all walk to slow” 😆

We then suggested that she walk in the front with @katedra_taylor the hike leader and we assured her mother that she was in good hands. She did a great job leading the grownups and we hope that this experience will motivate her to lead hikes in the future 🥰🥾🥾🥾🟥⬛️🟩

The Goombay Mother’s Day Hike brought out 45 Mom

The Goombay Mother’s Day Hike brought out 45 Moms, Aunties, Grandmom’s and Baby Girls to walk 4.2 miles at Jug Bay. Unfortunately we decided to change the trail to walk more in the forests and it ended up being 6.5 😳. It ended up being a lot of sore legs that day but the challenge was amazing and we hope that everyone came away with a sense of accomplishment 🥰
